Welcome to our wonderful school in Moranbah, Central Queensland. Moranbah is a key to the prosperity of Queensland, being the centre of coal mining industry. Mackay is located approximately 2 hours drive east of us. Our town's population is around 10 000, but with many more workers who use our town as a base. Our school's mission is "Creating positive pathways for diverse futures". This means we cater for all students, whether they are headed for university or a professional career, in retail, or the strong vocational sector.
Our 4 Key Priorities are: - Our School, Our Community, Our Future - Literacy and Numeracy is Power - Teachers Make A Difference - No Student is Invisible Our school prides itself in the intimate nature of our understanding of what our students want for the future. we have been very successful in this regard. A large element of providing opportunities for our students relates to the partnerships we have formed with our community and industry. We are not at the point of expanding our opportunities for students, both within and beyond our community. Plans, which look at engaging Universities in delivery for both our students and the local community, are being developed	.
	Moranbah State High School also boasts our own trade training Centre - the Coalfields Training Excellence Centre (CTEC) where students are directly prepared for apprenticeships in our state of the art facility.
