Issues which are of integral importance to this team include:

  • the development of a positive community in each year level, and the school as a whole. This will include the facilitation of activities and events for each year level.
  • safety of all members of the school community and the assurance that Moranbah is a safe, caring and happy place for all.
  • the monitoring of absentee and non achieving students, and the creation of success plans for such students.
  • the implementation of the school wide behaviour management policy.
  • an emphasis on the notion of service and leadership.
  • an emphasis on the continued commitment to Moranbah’s core values – the 4Rs (Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Relationships).
  • standards of excellence in uniform, classroom behaviour and attitude.
  • the development of enthusiastic and committed teacher teams (in CARE and Access) for each year level to assist the year coordinator in his/her duties.
  • the development of worthwhile and valid Access curriculum, which is created by teams of teachers.
  • the development of a successful CARE class structure.
It is without a doubt that the Student Welfare Department has high expectations; however, it remains true that if both students and staff feel that they are a part of ‘something’ both worthwhile and great, they have a greater chance of success in endeavours that they undertake. If we have smiling staff and smiling students, then our classrooms and our playgrounds will be happy and successful places for all!
  • We want our students to want to come to school.
  • We want our staff to want to come to school.
  • We want everybody keen and committed to do the very best they can, no matter who they are, where they come from, or what they are working on.

We want the very best school we can possibly have so that our students enter the world with confidence, with strong self esteem, with pride; we want our students to be well rounded and socially responsible citizens who believe in their own potential; we want all of our students to be on a pathway that will lead them to their very own success!
