Drone Club
The main focus of this club is to learn flying skills and programming skills in preparation for the annual Whitsunday STEM
Challenge (around June each year). We have 10 TELLO drones and 10 iPads. 10 students can fly at a time in the hall at one
time because of WIFI and Bluetooth connection between the iPad and the TELLO drone. Juniors and Seniors are held on
separate days. Whitsunday STEM Challenge offers students in Years 7-12 the opportunity to compete against other teams
in the Mackay & District region across 3 events in drone competitions. This competition offers teams of 3 students to go
head-to-head in a speed race, target practice and a real-life scenario to apply their learned drone coding and handling.
Duke of Edinburgh
Our club is dedicated to helping students achieve the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Award. Through a mix of physical
activities, skill development, volunteer work, and adventurous journeys, you'll gain valuable life skills and experiences. Join
us to challenge yourself, make new friends, and earn an internationally recognized award. Let's embark on this rewarding
journey together!

Dungeons and Dragons Club
Moranbah State High School's Dungeons and Dragons club meets twice a week after school on Wednesdays and Fridays
lunch to play Dungeons and Dragons and other tabletop roleplay games. This club is a great way to encourage critical
and creative thinking, team-building, and is a place where students build meaningful relationships with each other across
year levels.
eSports Club:
The eSports Club meets twice a week in order to practice and hone the skills necessary for an eSports competition, with
students having the option of practicing in their own time on the other days of the week. eSports is an exciting new
venture in competition that allows students to build confidence, resilience and compete against a variety of competitors
both in our school and inter-school. Players in the club hone their skills on Just Dance, Mario Kart and Super Smash
Brothers and compete in tournaments organised, assisted and facilitated by our very own Diploma of eSports students.
This club is a great way to foster competitive spirit and attitude within students and build resilience against unforeseen
upsets and trials, as well as learn to perform in front of a crowd and conquer those pesky nerves!
