Pathways for diverse futures

Moranbah State High School is committed to providing 'pathways for diverse futures'. All that we do in the school is based around our daily purpose to ensure that "every day, in every classroom, every student is learning, achieving and valued. We expect staff and student to consistently uphold our four core values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Relationships.

Moranbah SHS is located in the heart of the Queensland coal mining industry. We have wonderful links with key industry partners to ensure our students have a strong understanding of sustainable communities and the varied opportunities available through the mining industry.

We have a deep commitment to students pursuing academic pathways as well as those pursuing vocational pathways. Moranbah SHS does not allow geographic distance to prevent our students from experiencing opportunities available to city students. There is a full range of academic, sporting and cultural activities available to students throughout the year. The opening of the Coalfields Training Excellence Centre on the school grounds has enabled students to receive training in a state of the art facility. Moranbah SHS is committed to student welfare with a pro-active anti-bullying program and alternate programs available each year.
