Students attended the High School in 1975 as a partially constructed school emerged. The first Principal was Lindsay Barton leading the co-ed school into history. Students still attended the Moranbah State School campus for the subjects of Manual Arts and Home Economics, the school grew quickly to accomodate a vast variety of subjects including Business Technology, Science and Cultural Studies.
